My Coloring Book Updates

Check the update log below to make sure you have the latest version. If not download it for free!

Not sure which version you have?  Click the [about] button in My Coloring Book.

The download includes all files needed for setting up My Coloring Book, including samples.  If you are upgrading you will normally only need to replace the "mcb.swf" file (unless otherwise noted).

Add-ons: For the latest version check the Add-on Updates.

version 1.10, 15 April 2011 - Custom Add-ons

Want to run a coloring contest?  How about posting colored in pictures to Facebook?  Or do you want to set up an online gallery where kids can post their colored in pages?

All these things, and more, are now possible thanks to the new add-on feature.

This is a significant upgrade, with some new files and a new subdirectory...

  • mcb.swf - Changed.
  • saveimage.php - New file.  Used for saving colored in images, for use with add-ons.
  • samplecustom.php - New file.  Used for testing custom buttons for add-ons.
  • config/config.xml - New settings for add-ons. Compare the new with your existing and be sure to copy over any changed settings.
  • /save - New directory.  Used when saving colored in images, for use with add-ons.

version 1.9.1, 23 March 2011 - Bug fix release

Text captions are cool, but they accidentally broke the coloring book when used with individual coloring pages.  This release fixes that bug.

It also updates the sample caption in the book1.xml file, to use a CDATA section which makes the caption render correctly.  It is strongly recommended that you include all captions in CDATA sections (see the article on Using Coloring Books).

version 1.9, 3 March 2011 - Text captions

Text captions are cool, but they accidentally broke the coloring book when used with individual coloring pages.  This release fixes that bug.

It also updates the sample caption in the book1.xml file, to use a CDATA section which makes the caption render correctly.  It is strongly recommended that you include all captions in CDATA sections (see the article on Using Coloring Books).

version 1.8, 19 January 2011 - Pick color from the page

It can be hard to get back to exactly the color you used before, especially if using the random paint.  Now you can hold down the control key when using the Paint Bucket, Brush or Magic Brush to pick up a color off the page!

version 1.7, 18 January 2011 - Advanced Color Selector (and more)

Gives you the choice between the simple "picker" which pops up an extended palette, and the "selector" which provides an advanced Photoshop-style color selector for greater control over the color being chosen.

If you want to stick to the old picker, no changes are necessary.  To switch to the new selector is easy, just update your config.xml file, and replace "picker" with "selector".

For more information read the section on the Color Palette.

This version also includes a new "base" parameter which can be used to define the base directory under which the other folders should be found.
