Creating Coloring Pages with Photoshop

My Coloring Book Editor is only available for Windows.  If you don't have access to a Windows machine, or you just don't want to use MCBEdit, you still need to make sure your pictures are PURE BLACK AND WHITE.

Quick-and-Easy Instructions for Photoshop

To quickly convert an image to pure black-and-white in Photoshop...

  1. Open the file which you need to convert.
  2. Select File > Save for web and devices...
  3. Select GIF as the file type.
  4. Choose Black -White from the drop down list.
  5. Click [Save] and save the file.
  6. Open the newly saved version and use the pencil with either black or white only, to make any minor edits that are needed.
  7. Save the file.

Instructions for Photoshop, with more control

If you want more control over how Photoshop coverts the image...

  1. Open the file which you need to convert.
  2. Go to Image > Adjustments > Threshold.
  3. Move the scale left for less black and right for more black.  When you are satisfied, click OK.
  4. Select File > Save for web and devices...
  5. Select GIF as the file type.
  6. Set Colors to 2.
  7. Click [Save] and save the file.
  8. Open the newly saved version and use the pencil with either black or white only, to make any minor edits that are needed.
  9. Save the file.
